Maisy's having a special birthday party and kids (ages 3-6) are welcome to join in as Happy Birthday, Maisy! (Simon & Schuster) unfolds! There are two ways to play: either follow along with the story (like in one of the popular Maisy books) or choose an activity related to the party to play. Kids can make a birthday card for their friends or Maisy, or flex their motor skills while filling their plates with birthday party treats (look out for hungry Charlie gulping down leftovers!). A variety of party games also await, including a Treasure Hunt through the house and yard, a musical version of Follow the Leader, and an interactive game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Of course, the best part of the party is opening the gifts. Using the shape of the present as a guide, kids guess along with Maisy what they think is in each package. There are two levels of difficulty to keep the action going. Lots of verbal instructions and positive dialog get kids quickly involved in the festivities and coax them into staying for more. This is a program that even very young kids will be able to master by themselves quite quickly. And the best part about this birthday party taking place at your house? No clean up!
